Tinku’s mother Anjana Devi and sister Soniya (who is also an actress, wife of actor Bose Venkat), Supriya alleged, wanted a ‘car’ and started harassing and torturing her. Supriya has further stated that Rs.30 lakhs in hard cash, 100 soverigns of gold and 15 kilograms of silver utensils were given as part of the ‘dowry’ at the time of marriage by her parents. She also stated that though their parents were against their marriage, finally, the marriage was held with the consent of parents from both the sides. In her complaint filed with the All Women Police Station at Chennai’s Thirumangalam, Supriya has stated that she married Tinku alias Arunkanth in 1999 after falling in love with him. Tinku married Supriya in the year 1999 after falling in love with her a few years prior to that. A popular actor on the small-screen, Tinku had starred in many movies as a child artiste, notable among them being the Rajini-starrer Anbulla Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan’s Japanil Kalyanaraman.
